I am still reminiscing over last evening’s events in our town near the Canadian Border USA. It was warm and muggy and suddenly late in the evening the storm sirens went off. At the same instant my son called form his job site and he told me that a tornado had been spotted less than five miles from our home, and that I should seek safety in the basement. I jumped up and called to my son to get out of bed and get to the basement, and I began to carry the family pets down there as well.

Quickly I reached for the phone and called Peter Reichl-Cunnungham a practitioner of Christian Science and he told me to “Take control.” He also was calm, and clear, and his voice was confident of God’s ever presence in ALL situations. I was reminded of the time Jesus went into the boat with James, and John and Peter to go fishing. Jesus went to sleep in the boat and a storm came up. The boat tossed and turned and tipped nearly over, and Peter wakened Jesus and asked him why he did not care about quieting the storm. Jesus told him that his Father was taking care of him and he knew that. Immediately the storm stopped and the water was calm.

The Truth had fairly stopped the storm in my mind and when I went outside to check on things a few minutes later….I remembered the practitioner’s words:” Know that you will be safe, your pets will be safe, your home will be safe and your community will be safe.” He said it with such calming assurance that it WAS. When I stepped outside the phone rang again and this time my son told me there were four tornadoes sited five miles east of us, and two touched the ground ten miles west of us.

Yet, when I looked over my home, there was a complete circle of blue! The circle worked out from the center and the black clouds were pulling back and back and back making the blue larger and larger. It was like the scene in the Ten Commandments when the Red Sea was parted…the rolling sky was pealing back and back and back until ten minutes later the blue was large and over the town and the clouds were distant with their lightening and swirling winds.

I thought long about this revealing of God’s Love and am thankful for Christian Science and for this remarkable healing of our town and our home. MM USA
